Collectors

What is a Collector?

The installation of Collector streamlines the connectivity between the various data sources and the aggregator. To set up a standalone Collector, it is necessary to deploy at least one Aggregator before incorporating a collector into the system.

The Collector discovers and collects metadata and contents from over 6,000 different file formats – no matter whether it is stored on-premises, in the cloud or in hybrid storage scenarios. Once information has been indexed, it can be transmitted to the Aggregators via a TLS-secured TCP/IP connection. The Aparavi platform requires at least one of each component or a hybrid Aggregator-Collector to collect data from your infrastructure. All data collected from your sources will remain on the Aggregator and is not transferred to the Aparavi platform itself.
